Frequently asked questions

What tablet or laptop do I need?

Coromant Capto® DTH Plus require a laptop, tablet or stationary computer with:

  • Windows 10
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Touch screen or mouse and keyboard
  • Recommended screen size larger than 11inches
  • Recommended resolution: Full HD
  • Storage*: 2 GB of free space
  • Memory*: Minimum 4GB of RAM

*Storage and memory must be sufficient, so the operating system runs well. The application may need additional storage capacity for more extended periods of local data storage.

Do I need one license per machine, user, laptop or tool?

All licenses are tied to a specific tool serial number, so one license is required per unique tool. No license is needed per machine, user or laptop/tablet. Coromant Capto® DTH Plus can run the solution on as many machines, users and laptops/tables as you need.

What license models are available?

All the license tiers can be purchased either as a 12-month subscription or as a perpetual license. The available license tiers can be seen on the product homepage: http://www.sandvik.coromant.com/coromantcaptodthplus.

The subscription licenses include software maintenance, free updates to the latest features and software versions, and improved support.

The perpetual license includes 12 months of software maintenance and updates. After 12 months, you may purchase a yearly maintenance plan which allows continued access to improved support, updates and new features.

What happens if I don’t renew my subscription license?

After the license expiry, you will no longer be able to connect to the tool, view or store data. Access to data not exported before the license expiry is not guaranteed but may, to some extent, be available in the software.

Coromant Capto® DTH Plus will continue to function mechanically like their non-digital counterparts (i.e., vibration damped turning adapter and driven tool holder).

Please purchase and activate a new license to resume software use.

How long is the subscription?

The subscription period is of 12 months and is paid annually.

What happens if I don’t renew the maintenance plan for a perpetual license?

You can continue to use whatever version of the software you have installed at the expiry of the maintenance plan. You are no longer eligible for software updates and become responsible for the software’s running environment. This includes maintaining a supported operating system, Bluetooth drivers and IT security.

Also, since the latest version of the software is always the one that is supported and developed, only limited support will be able for older versions of software.

Will my software be automatically updated?

Yes, the software will receive updates if you have an active subscription or a perpetual license with an active maintenance plan. The software will let you know that a software update is available if you are connected. If the software runs off-grid, an offline installation file can be requested with the latest version.

Can I cancel the subscription at any time?

Yes. However, you can continue using the software until the last day of your paid subscription. There will be no refund for the balance period after cancellation.

Can I run the software offline?

Yes. With subscription licenses, you can be offline for 90 days at a time before briefly requiring an online connection.

With perpetual licenses, you may be offline indefinitely. During license activation, you can connect momentarily online to download the license or request an offline license file if no momentary internet connection is allowed.

Can I install, activate and run the software entirely off-grid?

No. This is not currently available for Coromant Capto® DTH Plus.

On how many workstations can I use my license?

The license is tied to the tool serial number and can be used on as many devices as desired. Remember that the license activation key or the offline license file for the tool will need to be input once per software installation.

Where is my data stored?

Except for anonymized usage data, all data is currently stored locally.
